The Divine Bhrgu Samhita

Maharishi Bhrigu

 New words from Bhrguji...

Guru Purnima, July 2008

Shri Sukraji, with folded hands, said: “Oh almighty Prabhu, under this combination of planets, the question is posed.  For the benefit of the jivas who are bodily encaged but are also pursuing spirituality, please speak for their ultimate benefit.  I long to hear Your words.”

Shri Maharshi Bhrguji replied:  “What is spiritual?  I will explain.  If anyone lives for another’s benefit, even a tiny bit, that is spiritual.  Those who sit within, with their souls, they are spiritual.

From selfishness to demanding, to absorption to “trishna” or extreme concentrated desire---that is the path of upliftment.  (eager for self-realization, serious about it, can’t live without it)…Then, ABOVE THIS is to want to benefit others.

When the jiva’s mentality is pure and faultless, then he will easily gain spiritual siddhis.  The jiva has only one aim---happiness, or ananda; but to attain this, he must never do sins or bad karmas.  From such karmas, he will get happiness only for a minute; but the reaction of such deeds is more suffering.  Spiritual happiness has an unending flow, like a waterfall.

If you want this, it is most important to do sadhana.  Who can help or give it to you?  Saints, the sad-guru and Lord Hari’s kripa.

Always keep your inner self pious and radiant.  Avoid useless walking and talking.  When you speak, speak of the saints and of Lord Hari.  When you walk, walk to satsang or to the Mandir.  Be desireless and selfless.  Everything which comes, everything you get to eat, take as the mercy of guru and Lord Hari.

One should be renounced.  Look Shukra, the jiva has two identities; inner and outer, bhautic and atmic.  If the jiva gives importance to the material side, he will never be happy.  True happiness is in the spirit soul.  In such consciousness, one finds happiness even amidst difficulties.  Self-satisfaction is the real form of happiness, and it uplifts you from the lower platform of mundane pleasure.

The heart of a jiva is like a Raktabij Rakshasa (a powerful demon; when a drop of his blood is spilled another demon immediately arises). Only when the divine goddess Chandi is awakened within, can the demon be killed and the heart be subdued.  Only then can one’s senses be elevated; never indulge them in bodily lila (pastimes).

Accept what is destined to happen for you; never be depressed.  If your heart feels too much upset, tell it “I don’t believe you; I don’t accept this and I will leave.”  When you take the other side (acceptance and rejection of depression), then your heart will calm down and will accept your good intentions.  Then, whatever you do and think will be what manifests in your life, and your heart will befriend and recognize you.

Then you will be fixed in meditative awakening.  Auspiciousness will come, even if seemingly by accident.  This path is so easy and beautiful, so full of nectarine juice, that at every moment you will feel thrilled, as if such a moment would never come again.  For this state, never be in a hurry.  Be stable, and live with your guru and do sadhana.  By this, the ananda or happiness becomes of the different, unending nature.  But when you are close to your guru, never show even a seed of ego—otherwise, you are on the path of destruction.

Today, on this auspicious day, to all devotees in this country and abroad, I give My blessings. Burn a ghee lamp at sunset in a holder of cow dung---this will be auspicious.

Maharishi Bhrigu is an eternal personal associate of Lord Krishna, a guru of many great personalities such as the Pandavas, and a progenitor of mankind. His spiritual abode is hinted at by Sri Sanatana Goswami, who says that “the bhajan (worship) there is indescribable,” and by the Srimad-Bhagavatam, which describes Bhriguji’s home as “worshipable even for the saints who are transcendentally situated” (Bhag. 2.2.25). My guru, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, mentioned in his scriptural translations that “any gentleman must be interested in astrology,” and that “the perfection of astrology is found in Bhrgu-samhita.”

Obviously, if one experiences this divine source, and if one follows the path Bhrigu outlines, one’s material and spiritual lives are greatly benefited. This is a divine and devotional exchange between you and a great mahatma, not material astrology meant to satisfy whimsical desires.

God has not left us in the dark, though we chose to come to this material world. He has appeared in a variety of forms, at many times and in different places, to bring His parts and parcels back to the normal condition of the soul in sat-cid-ananda (eternal, knowledgeable and blissful) existence. Bhrigu Maharishi appeared during the advent of Lord Krishna 5,000 years ago. At that time, Bhriguji’s text, which uses the vehicle of astrology but is really dictated through His spiritual vision, was spoken to His son, the divine Shukra.

The book, spoken for the many whom He saw hearing His words over the next thousands of years, was carved in stone in the Himalayas. Two thousand years ago, those words were written down on papers, which are kept with great care in Hoshiarpur in the state of Punjab in Northern India. A saintly lady named Sneha Amrtanand lives there and translates the words of Bhrigu for us.

For those interested, you must visit the center in India or meet Snehaji on one of her travels. It may take time, even years, to find your reading, but it happens when the time is right or when Bhrigu reciprocates with your prayers/desires.

Please do not ask Nalini to obtain your "reading" for you.  This is not ordinary astrology or "nadi" astrology of India.  These are direct words of the Godhead Himself, and they are revealed in the heart of one who approaches with, and follows the words with, faith.

Thank you very much!
